Full grooms tailored to breed and coat
A full groom includes a bath, blow-dry, haircut or trim to breed standard (or your preference), ear cleaning, nail trim, and sanitary trim. Pricing starts at $60 and varies by size and coat condition. Double-coated breeds, doodles, and dogs with matting may require extra time. Each groom is done one-on-one -- not in a high-volume assembly line -- so your dog gets undivided attention from start to finish.
Bath and nail maintenance visits
Not every visit needs a full haircut. A bath-and-nails appointment covers a thorough wash, blow-dry, brush-out, nail trim, and ear check starting at $35. This keeps your dog clean and comfortable between full grooms. It is a popular choice for short-haired breeds that need regular cleaning without frequent cuts, and for dogs that just spent the weekend rolling in the yard.
Breed-specific grooming knowledge
Different breeds need different techniques. Goldendoodles and poodle mixes require careful dematting and scissor work to keep their curly coats manageable. Shih Tzus and Yorkies benefit from face trims and topknot styling. Double-coated breeds like Huskies and German Shepherds should never be shaved but do need thorough undercoat removal during seasonal blows -- see our deshedding treatments for details. The groomer at Four Paws & Claws has formal training through Stautzenberger College and adjusts every appointment to the breed's specific coat and skin needs. For older dogs with age-related sensitivities, see senior dog grooming.
Flea treatment and deskunk add-ons
Flea treatment can be added to any appointment for $10. If your dog got into a skunk, the deskunk treatment is an additional $20 and uses a targeted wash to neutralize odor at the source. Both add-ons can be combined with a regular groom or bath visit without needing a separate appointment.
What to expect at your dog's appointment
When you drop off, the groomer checks your dog's coat condition and discusses any specific requests or concerns. Most full grooms take between 1.5 and 3 hours depending on breed, coat length, and behavior. You will get a call when your dog is ready for pickup. If your dog is anxious or has not been groomed recently, let the team know when you book so extra time can be built into the schedule. The salon is located at 4352 Pearl Rd in Old Brooklyn, with easy access from Parma, Brooklyn, and the surrounding Cleveland neighborhoods.
